What Is Abdominal Pain?

Signs and Symptoms
- Pain and Discomfort: affecting the upper, middle, or lower abdomen and flanks (sides).
- Nausea is often accompanied by vomiting.
- Loss of appetite.
- Changes in bowel habits: such as constipation or diarrhoea (frequent loose, watery stools), or the presence of blood or mucous mixed with the stool.
- Pain when urinating and/or experiencing the need to urinate more frequently.
- Fevers and chills: measuring a temperature greater than 37.6 degrees celsius, sometimes associated with shivering and feeling tired and lethargic.
